North Carolina State NursingCE Requirements

North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) CE Requirements

You are required to complete one of the following every two years: 1) National certification or re-certification by a national credentialing body recognized by the Board 2) 30 CE hours 3) 15 CE hours and completion of a nursing project as principal or co-principal investigator to include statement of the problem, project objectives, methods and summary of findings 4) 15 CE hours and authoring or coauthoring a published nursing-related article, paper, book or book chapter 5) 15 CE hours and developing and conducting a nursing education presentation or presentations totaling a minimum of five contact hours for nurses or other health professionals to include a copy of program brochure or course syllabi, objectives, content and teaching methods, and date and location of presentation 6) 15 CE hours and 640 hours of active practice within the previous two years.

North Carolina Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) CE Requirements

You are required to complete one of the following every two years: 1) National certification or re-certification by a national credentialing body recognized by the Board 2) 30 CE hours 3) 15 CE hours and completion of a nursing project as principal or co-principal investigator to include statement of the problem, project objectives, methods and summary of findings 4) 15 CE hours and authoring or coauthoring a published nursing-related article, paper, book or book chapter 5) 15 CE hours and developing and conducting a nursing education presentation or presentations totaling a minimum of five contact hours for nurses or other health professionals to include a copy of program brochure or course syllabi, objectives, content and teaching methods, and date and location of presentation 6) 15 CE hours and 640 hours of active practice within the previous two years.

North Carolina Nurse Practitioner (NP) CE Requirements

You are required to maintain national certification and complete one of the following every two years: 1) 30 CE hours 2) 15 CE hours and completion of a nursing project as principal or co-principal investigator to include statement of the problem, project objectives, methods and summary of findings 3) 15 CE hours and authoring or coauthoring a published nursing-related article, paper, book or book chapter 4) 15 CE hours and developing and conducting a nursing education presentation or presentations totaling a minimum of five contact hours for nurses or other health professionals to include a copy of program brochure or course syllabi, objectives, content and teaching methods, and date and location of presentation 5) 15 CE hours and 640 hours of active practice within the previous two years.
