Kentucky State NursingCE Requirements

Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) CE Requirements

You are required to complete 14 CE hours for each annual licensing period. If this is your initial licensure period, you are required to complete 3 CE hours in domestic violence and 1.5 CE hours in pediatric abusive head trauma.

Kentucky Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) CE Requirements

You are required to complete 14 CE hours for each annual licensing period. If this is your initial licensure period, you are required to complete 3 CE hours in domestic violence and 1.5 CE hours in pediatric abusive head trauma.

Kentucky Nurse Practitioner (NP) CE Requirements

You are required to complete 14 CE hours for each annual licensing period. If this is your initial licensure period, you are required to complete 3 CE hours in domestic violence and 1.5 CE hours in pediatric abusive head trauma. You are required to complete an additional 5 contact hours in pharmacology. If you hold prescriptive authority, 1.5 of those 5 pharmacology hours must relate to KASPER, pain management, or addiction disorders. If you hold SANE credentialing, you must complete 5 hours in sexual assault or forensic nursing with each renewal, and those hours may count toward license renewal continuing education requirement.
