Requirements specific to Nurses in Massachusetts

Required Courses: 1

  • Nurses are required to complete 15 hours of CE to renew a license
  • All nurses are required to complete a Domestic and Sexual Violence CE provided by the BoN here: https://chapter260training.org/courses/training/
  • There is a one-time requirement for a CE course on the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients with cognitive impairments, including, but not limited to, Alzheimer's and dementia.

RN licenses must be renewed every two years before the licensee's birth date in even numbered years (2018, 2020)

LPN licenses must be renewed every two years before the licensee's birth date in odd numbered years (2019, 2021)
